COVI Group (CEO Myungjin Park), a leading video advertising technology startup in Korea, announced that it won the Grand Prize in the AdTech category at the 2023 Korea Digital Advertising Awards (KODAF 2023) on the 14th, with its video advertising platform COVI.
At the awards ceremony, COVI Group was recognized for the innovative technology and differentiation of its video advertising platform COVI, earning the top honor in the AdTech category. COVI is Korea’s first app-based native video advertising platform, applying three core technologies: Native UX/UI Matching advertising technology, big data–driven personalized targeting, and video creative optimization. Through these technologies, COVI enables users to consume video ads as part of the content experience across more than 200 major app service placements in Korea.
In addition, COVI leads the market by maintaining global-level advertising quality standards in brand safety and ad viewability, supported by stricter ad exposure controls compared to competing platforms. As a result of these efforts, COVI obtained the IAB Tech Lab global certification in 2023, earning recognition from global major advertisers with stringent brand safety requirements and expanding video advertising partnerships with leading brands across various industries in Korea.

Meanwhile, COVI enables video ad delivery to approximately 30 million monthly app-based users and recently launched a new product that allows advertisers to leverage app installer big data for targeting. Through this offering, advertisers can reach users who are otherwise difficult to access—such as YouTube Premium users—by targeting YouTube Music app installers via COVI.
In addition, advertisers can execute campaigns on COVI using various combinations of app installer data, including their own apps, competitor apps, interest-category apps, and purchase-related apps. This enables brands to identify and reach core potential customers with video ads based on specific campaign marketing objectives.
Recognized for its strong technological capabilities and business competitiveness, COVI Group was selected in 2022 for the TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup), a private investment–linked technology startup support program operated by Korea’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Through the TIPS program, COVI Group continues to develop new AI-based platform technologies, including AI-driven UX/UI automation for ad placements, personalized ad recommendation AI, and AI-powered prediction models for video creative effectiveness.
Myungjin Park, CEO of COVI Group, commented,
“The Korean video advertising market faces a number of challenges, including forced and intrusive ad viewing environments, low-quality ad exposure that undermines brand value, and the growing dominance of global ad tech giants such as YouTube. COVI will continue to introduce innovative, global-standard video advertising technologies to help address these issues and deliver better advertising experiences for viewers, media partners, and advertisers alike.”
Meanwhile, the 2023 Korea Digital Advertising Awards is a leading industry awards program hosted by the Korea Digital Advertising Association, aimed at fostering sustainable innovation and strengthening competitiveness within the digital advertising industry. This year, approximately 460 entries across 19 categories—including MarTech, AdTech, Creative, and Performance—were submitted and evaluated through a rigorous judging process to recognize the most innovative campaigns and technologies of the year.
