COVI Group, an ad-tech startup led by CEO Myungjin Park, announced on the 17th that it has been selected for TIPS, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ private investment-led technology startup program.
TIPS is a program jointly operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and private investment partners. It selects promising startups with strong technological capabilities and business potential, then provides intensive support for R&D and commercialization.
COVI Group is an ad-tech company that operates the mobile video advertising platform “COVI.” In a digital advertising industry where performance is mostly expressed in numbers, the company has introduced a new concept called RMM (Ad Reach Moments Management)—a methodology that considers not only quantitative metrics but also the user’s experience of seeing and recognizing ads, which directly influences brand perception.
RMM is a policy and technology framework developed in-house by COVI Group that ensures ads are delivered at the right moment and in the right context, so they do not interrupt or disrupt the natural flow of content consumption.
Founded in 2018 by experts in video marketing, COVI Group has grown into a sought-after partner for major domestic and global advertisers including Apple, Mercedes-Benz, SK, LG, and Kia. Since launch, the company has continued to expand its media inventory, and in 2019 officially introduced its mobile video advertising platform, COVI.
The COVI platform currently partners with over 70 media outlets—including broadcasters, news organizations, magazines, membership services, and lock-screen apps—and as of December last year, surpassed 30 million media reach, solidifying its position among leading advertising platforms. COVI offers highly segmented targeting options such as demographics (age/gender), 162 interest categories, occupation, income level, and retargeting of ad-responsive users, enabling advertisers to deliver tailored messages based on brand needs, audience characteristics, and budget.
CEO Myungjin Park stated, “Through our selection for TIPS, we plan to develop technologies such as AI-powered advertising UX/UI auto-optimization, personalized ad recommendations, and creative performance prediction—to deliver a better advertising experience for viewers, advertisers, and media partners.” He added, “We aim to lead the relatively unfamiliar ad-tech field in Korea and grow into a globally recognized advertising platform.”
